What is Homeopathy?
Homeopathy is a natural medical science based on the Law of Similars.
This law has been verified experimentally and clinically for the
last 200 years. Homeopathy is based on the works of Dr. Samuel
Hahnemann, whose writings reach back to Germany in 1790. Hahnemanns’
philosophy of “LIKE CURES LIKE” proposed that the
body, stimulated by minute doses of specific medicines, produced
effective self-healing responses.
The term homeopathy comes from the Greek words homois (similar)
and pathos (suffering or sickness). Homeopathic medicine uses
various plants, mineral or animal sources in small, safe doses
called “remedies” to stimulate the natural defenses
in a sick person or animal. Homeopathic medicine uses very In-depth
case taking, and assesses how the patient is experiencing the
disease, not just the disease itself.
The simillimum is the homeopathic remedy that creates certain
symptoms in a healthy person, and can cure those symptoms in a
sick person. A homeopath will give a remedy that mimics the sick
persons symptoms, and thus strengthens the body’s ability
to respond, and if done correctly lasting cure will result.
Classical homeopathy is a very pure science and is practiced on
animals and humans alike and can have wonderful results. It is
a very powerful and safe therapy and is used to successfully treat
a wide variety of disorders.
How Homeopathic Remedies
Work
Homeopathic Remedies work by stimulating the body’s own
defense or immune response. These remedies work gently and effectively
at stimulating our own inner healing response. Homeopathic Philpot
strongly relies on realizing the importance of the bodies ‘intelligence’
to heal itself. After you or your practitioner has chosen the
correct remedy that match your symptoms the remedy is given in
either a dry dose (dissolving the medicated tablets under the
tongue) or in a water based solution. This remedy then acts to
reinforce the bodies own direction of healing.
